HWE Mining has provided mining services for almost half a century. We pride ourselves on our history, our significant operational experience and the expertise of our people.

Our predecessor, Henry Walker, began in 1962 as a civil engineering contractor and merged with Eltin, predominately an underground mining contractor in 1999 to form Henry Walker Eltin. The acquisition of Simon Engineering in 2000 added capabilities in electrical engineering, mechanical process engineering and the construction and project management of major plant infrastructure in the resource and manufacturing industries.

In 2006 Henry Walker Eltin’s mining assets were acquired by Leighton Contractors and renamed HWE Mining. Along with Brisbane-based Leighton Mining, HWE Mining is now part of Leighton Contractors’ Resources Division, Australia’s premier mining services provider.
